Growing up on the streets of South and Northeast Washington, DC Holmes has always been an aggressive leader in the boxing arena, but the charismatic social activist and community liaison also enjoyed a strong love and talent for music. With his hard knock life and turbulent past as his inspiration, Holmes has been writing since 1997. Much of his DC hood-tales are depicted throughout the new LP.

Already impacting airwaves, “This Ain’t No Lease”, boasts Holmes’ desire to be better and set an example of independent wealth. This street anthem speaks upon the power of owning what you have and staying on top of the game. Other hits include; “I Can Be True To You”, an ode to a special lady about getting their relationship back on track, “We In The Money Game” is an up tempo track that forecasts Holmes’ financial gain in the music game, and “I Remember” is dedicated to all of the fallen loved ones in the champion’s life. “I know that there is a ton of talent out there, but I have always met and mastered any challenges thrown at me,” Explains the confident rapper. “My music has commercial appeal and my lyrical skills are comparable to my fight game, so there is no doubt I will be victorious.”
Keith Holmes’ life, times and rising rap star status is being chronicled in a new reality series tentatively entitled; “The Keith Holmes Project”.

HOODLUM TURNED HOOD HERO ON A MISSION TO MAKE AMENDS

ATLANTA, GA, December, 2009—Much like the lauded comic book superheroes; when the rough streets of modern-day Gotham call, Keith Holmes comes to the rescue without fail or desired accolades. Although as a professional athlete he has traveled around the world from France and London to Israel and South Africa, Holmes finds solace and wisdom in tending to his own backyard.

Honest about his own troubled past and involvement in the corruption of the very area he now is committed to serving, Holmes feels compelled to make a positive impact and establish personal retribution through sincere deeds within his Washington DC community.

Unlike many of his contemporaries, Holmes was able to escape the throes of the streets and became a 2-time WBC Middleweight Champion, a title held by heavyweights; Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali and Evander Holyfield. But behind the belts, Holmes is more than an athlete; he is considered among his peers, neighbors and fellow community members a street profit and people’s champion.

As a “go-to” guy and neighborhood leader, Holmes now wields more brainpower than brawn to address the needs of the hood. The motivational speaker and occasional referee, offers a positive perspective of what the streets gave to him.

Holmes shares his ghetto gospel from pool halls and parks to preschools and penitentiaries. The highly respected, hands-on social activist has worked with local DC non profit and community organizations including; “Cease Fire: Don’t Smoke The Brothers”, “Peaceaholics”, and “The Alliance of Concerned Men”.

“I’m trying to help these guys live, just because they’re in prison for example, doesn’t mean that their lives are over,” expressed the champ.

“I was a part of the disruption in my city and neighborhood, so I have to try to bring it back alive,” he further reveals.

Holmes has no intentions of slowing down and looks forward to continuing to inspire, motivate, and instill hope within the hearts of many.
